My poll 39 is inspired by PAINTED SKIN (2008, Gordon Chan), which has become one of my most favorite romantic films of all time. Vespertine from Bioscope webboard said that all the six main characters of PAINTED SKIN have unconditional love, and I think that's why this film makes me feel very romantic.
However, the word "romantic films" I use here means "films which make me feel very romantic". It doesn't mean films which necessarily belong to romantic genre. Thus, HANCOCK (2008, Peter Berg, A+/A) and QUEEN OF THE DAMNED (2002, Michael Rymer, A++++++++++) may be called romantic films here, but LOVE OF SIAM (2007, Chukiat Sakveerakul, A+/A) may be not. I love the relationship between Lestat (Stuart Townsend) and Marius (Vincent Perez) in QUEEN OF THE DAMNED very much. I think the scene in which Marius decides to jump on the concert stage to kill other vampires to help protecting Lestat is one of my most favorite romantic scenes, though it is actually an action-thriller scene. LOVE OF SIAM doesn't make me feel romantic. It makes me feel very hateful. After I saw this film, I hate the homophobic Sunee (Sinjai Plengpanit) very much. I think Sunee is one of the characters which I hate the most in my lifetime. LOVE OF SIAM makes me burn with anger and hatred towards this character, despite her change of attitude near the end of the film.

ส่วน Hatsukoi (First Love) เนี่ย ตอนเราดูที่ลิิโด้ เรารู้สึกเฉยๆ นะ แต่พออ่านบทความของ คุณอนุสรณ์ ติปยานนท์ แล้ว ก็รู้สึกชอบหนังมากขึ้นทันที ถ้าจำไม่ผิด แกจะเขียนประมาณว่า "ต่อให้เธอมีความรักอีกครั้ง มันก็จะไม่ใช่ความรักครั้งแรกอีกต่อไป" อะไรเทือกนี้แหละ
ช่วงนี้งานนู้นงานนี้ชนกันวุ่นวายมากมาย จนอยากจะโคลนนิ่งตัวเองขึ้นมาเสียจริง
สำหรับหนังญี่ปุ่นที่เราดูแล้วรู้สึกโรแมนติกมากๆนั้น จริงๆแล้วมีเรื่อง RAINBOW SONG (2006, Naoto Kumazawa, A+) ด้วย เพราะเรารู้สึกว่า RAINBOW SONG แสดงความเหงียนเงี่ยนเงี่ยนของผู้หญิงสองคน (นางเอกกับสาวแก่) ที่มีต่อพระเอกออกมาได้อย่างน่าประทับใจมาก แต่ในที่สุดเราก็ตัดสินใจเลือก HATSUKOI ใส่เข้ามาในโพลล์นี้ เพราะในขณะที่นางเอกของ RAINBOW SONG พยายามปิดบังความเหงียนเงี่ยนเงี่ยนที่มีต่อพระเอก นางเอกของ HATSUKOI กลับตัดสินใจประกอบอาชญากรรมเพื่อความเหงียนเงี่ยนเงี่ยนที่มีต่อพระเอก เราก็เลยรู้สึกว่านางเอกของ HATSUKOI น่าสนใจกว่า
(ความเหงียนเงี่ยนเงี่ยน = ความรัก + ความเงี่ยน)
อย่างไรก็ดี ฉากที่เราคิดถึงทีไรก็ปวดร้าวใจทุกที คือฉากใน RAINBOW SONG ตอนที่นางเอกกับพระเอกไปงานนัดบอด
